Geodesic Dome Shelter for Winter Glamping Vacation

Geodesic Dome Shelter for Vacation Home Rental

In addition to large resorts and campsites, our geodesic dome shelter has also been very favored by some small private rentals. Not long ago, we supplied 3 sets of igloo dome tents for homestay rental business in the Philippines. And again we set up a dome shelter in Chile for vacation home rentals. Our dome house has been highly booked since its opening.

This popular vacation rental is settled in the middle of a peaceful mountain valley. Our dome hotel sits on a raised wooden-deck with a red chalet on its back. The combination of white and red adds more color and vitality to this secluded rental, especially during the chilly winters in Chile.

Our dome tent is designed as 30% transparent and 70% opaque, thus creating a large bay window. Through this transparent window, the interior space of the geodome house is filled with bright sunlight every day. What’s more, surrounded by the glorious mountain scenery, our geodesic dome shelter allows people to enjoy a breathtaking view of the outside world while staying inside. In the evening, guests can enjoy the starry sky under their unique geodomes.

28sqm Spacious Interior Space for 2-4 People

With spacious interior space of 28 sqm, our dia.6m dome shelter is enough to accommodate 2-4 people. For example, this dome rental is featured with a kingsize bed for 2 people. In the living area, there is a folding sofa that can open into a double bed. And you can also put a bunk bed inside the dome to sleep more people.

In front of the window, guests will find a wooden table with two rustic stumps for seating. Even with so much furniture, there’s still plenty of room to wait for use. I think it is the freestanding structure of our geodome tent that makes perfect use of the interior space.

In this project case, the dome tent is only used as a bedroom while the chalet is used as a bathroom. In fact, our dia.6m dome tent can come with a bedroom and a bathroom in our many other projects. This luxury dome tent in Hawaii campsite is a typical glamping suite for your reference.

All about the Geodesic Dome Shelter for Winter Glamping Vacation.

Install Wooden Stove inside Geodome House

Due to the influence of terrain and cold current, it is very cold in Chilean winter, often accompanied by snowfall. So to offer guests a warm and comfy accommodation, it is very necessary to establish a sound insulation system.

For this vacation rental, there is an air conditioner and a wood stove inside the dome house. The presence of air conditioning keeps the indoor temperature suitable for the whole year.

And the wood-burning stove is ideal for glamping in winter. And we can keep a chimney vent on our tent with our advanced drilling and cutting techniques to remove the exhaust gases.

People can sit together in front of the wood stove to warm themselves and then enjoy the relaxed atmosphere between each other.

In order to maximize the insulation effect, we can also provide insulation cotton layer attached to the inside of the tent. In some colder areas, this will be a good insulation facility.

    1. How long will it last?

Our Eco living domes’ lifespan can be over 15 years if looked after as per our recommendations. They are made of strong aluminum alloy and quality glass. They are even strong enough to handle high winds and heavy rain as well. Additionally, you can store in a dry clean warehouse to extend its lifespan if you don’t use it for a while.

    2. Do I need planning permission for the dome?

The domes are classified as temporary structures, so it is arguable that you do not need planning permission, especially if you decide to take them down over the winter period. However, every planning department is different and you may need consent for a change of use for the land the tent is placed on. You must check this with your local planning office or ask a planning consultant to do this on your behalf.

    3. How is the dome ventilated?

Our domes are designed with ventilation in mind. The roof, door, round windows, and portions of the sidewalls can be replaced with screens. If your environment doesn't allow for screens, due to excessive rain fall, we recommend using a solar fan to aid in ventilation.

    4. How do I install a wood stove in it?

There are a number of wood burning stoves and fitting kits we would recommend. You can do this yourself, if you are happy you won’t wreck your new tent. However, there are fitting services available too.
